The comparison between the two versions and the Hebrew text for the books of Joshua, Judges and Ruth was made by C. Kossowicz, Doctor of Comparative Philology and Professor of the Imperial University of St. Petersburg.

This is part of the first complete Old Testament to be issued in the Synod’s version, and was translated by D. A. Chwolson and V. A. Levisohn and published St. Petersburg, 1875. (DM 7860).
